so ever since i put the new motor in the car ive had a slow leak of oil from the front end of the engine. it seems to be built up most right near the front engine mount. any ideas what this might be? is this something common?? the motor only has 2k on it, i wouldnt want it to leak oil for the rest of its life.

 

U sure thats the engine oil? that might be your engine mounts leaking.

 

If not, i'd have the car checked ASAP

that happened to my car at 50K miles was still under warranty and audi threw a new motor and turbo in it with 0 miles, theres about 40K miles on it now, i just bought the car in june, and the previous owner show'd me all the paperwork. it was for the same reason, there was an oil leak from the engine, he brought it back 4 times, they thought it was a gasket, on the 5th time they threw in the new motor, and now its mine

 

The stock mounts are liquid filled. It's a redish fluid. Pretty normal for them to seep a little with age. Doesn't mean they are bad, yet. Clean the underside of the engine with brake cleaner and then look for the trace.

Did you confuse this thread as an open invitation to talk about the history of your car? His problem is most likely in no way related to what happend to your car....

Are you sure it's not your PCV breather hose? Mine broke and oil went everywhere.
