Default wheel bearing groan but no wiggle?

I have a groan tho there's no play in the bearing. If I hadn't checked all the wheels just now I'd swear it wa s a bad front right bearing.

I've replaced both front axles in the last couple months and there's no play in the wheels.

Any ideas?

I had the same problem, I wasn't sure which side it was but it was defintiely a wheel bearing. My mechanic friend and his brother jacked helped me out.. they were like dude you sure its a bearing theres no wiggle. I checked AZ.com and they confirmed no wiggle but it can still be a wheel bearing.

You don't have to feel a wiggle. I've driven B5's for about 10 years now and had lots of bad rear bearings. Usually if you jack up the wheel with the bad bearing and turn it, you can hear the grinding noise.

For the front wheel bearings, how do I know if I have the 75 mm or 82 mm ones? I see both parts as "OEM".... THANKS IN ADVANCE!
