Default Where did my boost go????

Wuts up guys. So awhile ago I kind of noticed that my intake wasn't as audible as it used to be and my 1997 1.8t wast quite as fast as I remember it being. Finally I got a 2 backfires through my intake manifold and decided this had to be looked into. I found that the vacuum line from my intake manifold to my fuel regulator had a big hole in it. I repaired it and my car felt like it was back to normal. I recently installed a boost guage and would able to push my almost stock car up to 7 or 8psi. Now I cant do it anymore, the highest I can get it to go is 5psi. Those extra 2 or 3psi where defiantly a noticeable loss What do you guys think? Another vacuum leak? Maybe a boost leak?

Thanks, Ryan

UPDATE. I just disconnected my battery to see if I could maybe reset my esc from seeing any weird boost that it wasn't used to. Once I restarted my car, as soon as I gave it a little gas and started to let out the clutch, the RPMs dropped really low and started hunting. It was doing this for a good 10 mins every time I gave it a little gas until it warmed up. I drove it around the block quickly and as I floored it I felt a little hesitation. PLEASE HELP!
