Default Where do you buy standard springs

I have a 96 a4 quattro, that has a broken rear spring. I can't seem to find any place on the net that sells standard springs. The sencond spring problem I think I have is the front tires are wearing out on the inside every 6 months. I dont have any weak suspension pieces, and since there is no camber adjustment, I surmize the springs are getting weak allowing the camber to shift. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but if I put on lowering springs, won't my camber be off anyway? How do I stop the front tire wear problem?

I literally couldnt find stock springs anywhere, new anyway. A couple places to find used ones: forum classifieds (alot of people upgrade, make sure they are the same springs though, they vary from fwd and quattro, im not sure about engines). I got mine from A&P Audi Specialties in Minnesota, search A&P Audi on google and youll find their website.

I'd be willing to guess your camber problem (and maybe your broken spring) is because your shocks are on their way out or already junk. Is the ride very bouncy? You can get OEM shocks on ECS or a similar website, but ya'll are right I've never seen new OEM springs. Part out would be your best bet, dealership would be able to get them but would charge you at least one limb

I took my sport shocks off my 1998 a4 2.8, if they'd work for you get at me and I'll let them go for cheap.

If you're blowing through tires that quickly, you likely have a toe issue in front. Excess camber will cause tires to wear more on one edge, but over time. Improper toe adjustment will eat through tires very quickly.

Replace your rear springs and shocked if necessary. Then take it to get an alignment. Get a before and after printout.

Thanks everyone who offered suggestions. I have it at the alignment shop now, and we will see what they come up with. It's really strange that the rear tires are wearing perfect. The drivers rear spring has about the first inch broken off. The fronts all look ok and are blowing through tires.

The springs will not allow your camber to "shift". More likely, you have a worn tie rod of some sort that will either tow out or toe in your camber. Either way, this will produce accelerated tire wear (now, ask me how I know this for a fact). Also, putting on lowering springs will also accelerate the inner tread on your tires (again, ask me how I know this for a fact).

+1 Look at your tie rods and make sure they have zero play. You might want to check that the tie rods going into the steering rack is also not the culprit.

And lastly, if you must put on stock springs, I have in a box, the stock springs that came from my wife's 2001 Audi A4 1.8TQ. I also have the original shocks/struts. They have about 20k miles on them. Let me know if you are interested in any of those.

We can order them in, takes 3 days to get to us first. They are 8D5-511-115-F at 96.00 for the pair or rear springs, OEM units. You should check to see if yours have the white and violet stripes on them like my parts guide suggests. Then you'd know you are getting the same springs that you are taking off the car. Thank you, Jeff.

My mistake on the springs, they are sold individually. I just came from selling Porsche parts and assumed the Audi springs were sold as a pair like Porsche did. I didn't pay attention to the Etka listing. Sorry Steve and thank you for catching my mistake.
