went to dealer and cold start rough idles are caused by a vacuum check valve and jet pump valve. what are they (poss part numbers) and where are they found on a 2000 A4 1.8T (fwd)
P.S. is a MIL light the same as a CEL? thanks for the help!

RE: where and what are these?
Yes, MIL is same as CEL. Check valves are those little round plastic pieces half gray half white. You should have about 4 of them under the hood. Easiest one to check is around top of airbox, then there are 2 or 3 more around under the intake manifold. If you see one that's melted-looking, it's bad. You can get them at dealer or http://www.ecstuning.com/stage/edpd/...mp;engine=1.8T the 4th item down. You'll need 4 of them, but most likely the one going to the brake booster is still good.
I dunno about the other thing you mentioned.

MIL= Malfunction Indicator Light, or CEL (check engine light) yes.
There are a bunch of those little vaccum check valves under the hood, so you should replace them all. As for the suction jet pump, its right behind the motor with three lines going into it. All of these parts are available at www.ecstuning.com
If you don't know what parts they are, let us know and i will provide a link.
