Where is the front "door ajar" sensor on a 2001 A4? I can easily spot the switch on the rear doors, but I can't see the front ones anywhere. My info center frequently complains that my driver's door is ajar when in fact it's securely closed. Especially when it's really hot outside.

 

It's a microswitch built into the door latch mecanism. You're a better man than I if you can take the switch apart and fix it. I bought a used latch assembly on eBay and just pulled the switch out of it.

It doesn't have an Audi part #. I googled the part # on the switch, didn't find a thing.
