I know this sounds stupid, but i just bought a Vag Com cable abd i cant find out where to plug it in?? the ashtray in the back seat i see where the engine symbol and the lightning bolt goes through it.. if i lift the cover there is a place where a plug would go.. but there are no pin connectors or anything there.. its an empty plug hole... plus the OBD2 cable i bought doesnt fit in there, its too big. am i totally looking in the wrong spot?? its a 1999 (pre face lift) A4 1.8t... thanks alot guys

 

Look down by the hood release - underneath the driver's knee bolster.

 

Drivers left knee area under the dashboard.

 

lol about two seconds after i posted this, i went out to check under the bolster cause it was pretty much the only place i didnt look and i found it.. haha feel pretty stupid, but thanks alot guys.. appreciate it
