I would do a full rebuild but I don't think it is going to be necessary. The car is still running so I think replacing the head will take care of it. I'll make the final call when I pull the head and see if there is any other damage. I have a two month old so I don't have as much time for hobbies like this as would like. If the motor is shot I found a lead on a used one with 40k on it for a very good price.

 

I would just go with that then. You will be very happy if it truly is a 40k mile engine.
