alright so my car has alot of white smoke coming out of the exhaust, but only when i am stopped at say a stoplight or when the car is not moving but has been sitting for about a minute. white smoke just comes pouring out of the exhaust. i've heard maybe head gasket, what else could it be. also how do i check the head gasket and is it possible to diy?

Sounds like the oil seals are going bad. You better start looking for a new turbo. If the head gasket is bad, you would see coolent going down and it pooling on top of the pistons with the plugs out.

My car makes white smoke at idle too but I thought it was normal because if it was oil, wouldnt the smoke be dark and there would be black resdue in my muffler but its completely clean.
Maybe your just paranoid like I sometimes get?

more constant smoke. Not really a way to confirm unless you check in your plug holes.

Agreed

Turbo car+white solid smoke= Blown Turbo

Engine oil burning tends to be blueish in colour black tends to bemiss firing issues.
