I spent all yesterday trying to remove the starter from my B5 and got as far as disconnecting the power from the selenoid and removing one bolt out of two. It took 4 long hours. I am curious if anyone has done this before on a 97 A4 Quattro 2.8 Automatic? Also, I'm hoping I can pull the starter out from the wheel well because I don't see any other way to do it, unless I pull the alternator out first, which I don't want to do.
Is there any old thread or links on how to do this I would appreciate any advice.
