I was making a left off a 4 lane road, and this girl flew out of a parking lot going left at like 40, and went head on into the corner of my car. I wasnt even out of the turn lane, she clipped the corner and was going that fast.

It has nothing to do with "how they can be" the simple fact is to total his car the damages have to be in excess of the fair market value (cheaper to replace than fix). Bumper $600 Fender $170 Grill (facelift...) $37 headlight $175 Door apears to be fixable est. 3hrs lbr. paint ($200) prep mount est 7-9hrs labor at $95hr +$500 for misc. parts and disposal fees. Total is $3012

The car with 87k miles on it. the fact it's a 99.5-01 it WILL NOT be totaled

 

you are forgetting the damage that was done to the wheel, didnt you see that it was all pushed in? its totaled for sure. plus i dont know if they would only paint the parts that are damaged cuz they have to blend the whole thing in, so more parts to be painted for sure.

 

wasn't looking at wheel, ctrl arm to tre couple hundred... that price includes blending. I ran it on our shop computer that does everything for us. We just put the part that needs replaced it tells us the paint cost and labor and everything... OP keep us updated and let us know what happens

 

it looks to be totaled to me but i don't think there's any frame damage. you should buy it back and fix it to drive if you didn't have any trouble with the car before. take a look at the subframe first though.
