will any locking pump work?

Default will any locking pump work?

i need a new central locking module pump and i found one on cragslist and he says it will work on any b5, but i wanted to double check, is it true? were they all the same for b5's?

Check if the part number matches with yours.

If the whole module won't work, the pump will.

yeah if the part numbers match your good. but you'll only be able to unlock from the outside with the door lock and you can only lock it from the inside with the button. and i think the windows and all of that should work. just no keyless entry. you have to get the key reprogrammed. im sort of in the same boat i need a new one as well i tried the used route. it ended up not working too. i might just bite the bullet and get a new one.

hmm, yeah i got a quote from the audi dealer and it was upwards of 600....


hence me tryin to go the used route, lol

i completely understand. i know. i might try the used road one more time. but after that its just not going to be worth it i should have just a bought a new one from the start.

Just FYI, I heard some pumps from Passats also work.

I went to the dealership when mine went bad. It was around $700.

ouch, yeah thats what i might be forced to do too.

im gunna try to stick it out until i get a summer job

i got some water damage in my trunk so for awhile it wasnt workin at all.


i guess a more accurate way of describing it is my door locks work and all, so the pump itself is working, but the dealer couldnt program the keys so its got sumthin to do with the signal or electronics
