Will better spark plugs eliminate misfires?

So I have gone through two sets of the NGK BKR7E's that have been highly recommended by many forum members. Each time at about 3-4K miles, they start fouling up and causing misfires. I think it's b/c oil gets into the combustion chamber. At $2 a piece, it's not bad but in the long run I'd rather pay a little more and have a smoother running car.

From looking at my spark plugs, there is oil getting into the combustion chamber and if the spark plugs can burn it off then that would be ideal.

So my question is will using spark plugs with the 2, 3 or 4 electrodes/tips instead of the single electrode have a higher chance of eliminating the misfires? Also, I remember seeing an ad for the Pulstar spark plugs. At $25 a piece, it's quite expensive and they only have one electrode but if they work and eliminate my misfires then it would be nice to have. Anyone have any experience with these Pulstars on our 1.8T's?

Should fix oil consumption rather then trying that... it most likely will have no effect on oil build up.

+1^ I'd be more worried about why your spark plugs are gettin covered with oil rather than puttin better spark plugs in there to try and burn off the oil.

As a side note, I've pulled my plugs to look at them and they have 3 electrodes. For whatever thats worth. lol.

Maybe Bosch platinum 3's?

Yeah that sounds right. They're on their way out so come spring time i'm gonna do a tune up and get new NGK plugs and a new set of wires and yada yada yada.

OP, do you know where the oil is comin from that keeps fouling your plugs?

Sounds like a plan

To be honest, I'm not sure where the oil is coming from. I have changed the valve cover gasket already but that shouldn't be the cause anyhow since the oil is in the combustion chamber. Could it be the PCV system? I was tempted to eliminate all of the check valves and put in a oil catch can. Any other ideas?

If you have a large trace of oil in the TB and IC you have a bad pcv system.

What about on the outside of the DV?
