Which GTI does he have?

If it's not the MKV, those wheels will not fit.

These look similar same number of spokes use the view on car feature with them

Neither Aristo's or mk3's are 5x112.

Yup.

It's an MKIII, I believe they are 5X100.

oh ****-nuts.. your right. I just called my friend and he did confirm that they are 5x100.. What adaptor would i need to fit these in??

5x112 to 5x100... If anyone even makes that. Usually you'd adapt to 5x112 so some people might consider that downgrading and it's probably going to end up costing more than some used wheels and tires that already fit.

There are definitely 5x112 to 5x100 adapters(H&R I believe) available but aledelic is right, you'd probably double the cost of your set up to do it.

you can even buy those and trade with someone for 5x112 wheels
