Will these wheels fit my a4 b5?

the rims are 18x8.5 et35, the tires are 205/40r/18?

That's a decent amount of stretch indeed!
Also that tire size will be smaller than stock, therefore would cause your speedometer to read high. Ideal near-stock size tire would be 225/40/18.
