hey guys. im heading to the local shop to get my windows tinted in my B5. i was looking to get 35%, because i don't want to be a cop magnet. laws in pennsylvania are tight! anyone have pics with window tint. preferably 35%, but any pics will do. thanks !

i just had to peel all the tint off my car. heres what the cop told me about PA tint laws...don't know how true. he said that, in PA, 70% of light has to be able to pass through the window and most stock automotive glass already only allows 70% of light through. so any tint that you put on a car in PA is illegal and you can be fined for it.

not my words. i got pulled over 3 times for my tint. i live in northeast PA. never got a fine...but a few written warnings. i just took mine off to avoid drawing any unnecessary attention. good luck

 

totally depends on what you can get away with. a local shop will do my avant with 15% for 170 (after hours). after looking around though i might be more interested in 20%. i figure that might not look so bad.

 

I grew up in NW PA and got pulled over for my tint as well. You're right, any aftermarket tint is illegal except in pickup trucks with flat rear windows and no sliding window. The only time tint on side windows is legal is when it came like that from the factory. For example, the back doors and windows on newer SUV's
