hmmmm.....well ive had this problem with several other cars. you stick the key in, then with a rubber mallet, tap the end of the key several times. then try again. worked for me sevral times before, but i will say this caution....it worked on other cars that weren't Audi's

haha whoa buddy , hitting it with a mallet? lol naaah ill skip that one, well i know i didnt break anything since i havent turned the key violently or agressively while turning it on and off.... a buddy a mine said keep wiggling the steering and that i should try pressing the clutch down and turning the wheel and key... i gave up after sweating for about 15 mins... ill just have to give it a try later.... i hate looking like a dumbass who walks to their car...sits in it..then walks out 15 mins later without even moving the car lol.........

You should turn the steering as hard as you reasonably can towards the center... unless it's already centered.

i believe that when the steering wheel is locked it is turner to the right a little, soo you have to turn it left as hard as possible when turning the key.

If you parked with your wheels turned left then you turn the wheel to the right as much as possible. If you parked with your wheels turned right then you turn the wheel to the left as much as possible.
