I'd be calling the County Prosecutor's office after I obtained proof of the cost of replacing the tires and wheels. They may not be willing to fingerprint for misdemeanors, but at a certain dollar amount, it becomes a felony.
I'd also call the local TV news action line if the police couldn't or wouldn't give me a valid reason for not investigating the crime scene (to include fingerprints).

I do want to ask for my own edification however; did you have your car alarm activated? Did the ignition lockout engage due to their violating the anti-level unit's parameters (don't know the particulars of your car, but I know mine has these features).

 

That blows, dude. I hope your insurance will cover the cost of replacing them... have you called them yet or are you going to wait and see if the wheels turn up somewhere?

I'm sure getting the word out on the Audi Forums and checking the classifieds on Craigslist and Ebay are definitely the way to go. I'd even go as far as metal recycling centers as well, you never know. Good Luck.

This further reinforces my beliefs that most people SUCK. No Audi guy would ever do that to another Audi, and if they did, may they be tried in a court of his peers.......us!

 

I am really suprised that the car alarm didnt trip. I left my car on a jack, set the alarm went in the house and a couple of minutes later the car alarm was going off. Check ebay, I could have swore when I was on there I seen three rims. Cant remember where, but I was searching a4 parts

Edit: They're different wheels anyway. Look at the OP's where the spokes meet the outer part of the rim compared to that auction. Also, 6-spoke vs 7-spoke.
