Default Wtf's, wrong with my oil temp gauge?

I have changed out the both oil temp sensor that sits behind the oil filter and that dam dual purpose oil level sensor attached to my oil pan. And still im getting no response from my oil temp gauge. After a lengthy run and my car at idle temp the oil temp gauge doesnt even make it to the first notch. I could remember the gauge use to sit just under 250 (halfway). Anyone experiencing this? I would appreciate the help. (2001 A4 2.8 30v quattro standard trans.)

There's a way to know if you cluster is malfunctioning by using the screen for the temperature.
I can't remember how exactly (research will be required), but it will tell you the temperature of the engine-oil if done properly. That would be a great start..

Also, use VAG-COM to scan the cluster and your car for any errors.

I don't think its the cluster cause I've changed it out and same issue. Im using Vagcom 301 doesn't show me any faults. Any one know what adaptation oil temp is in? I mean thats all there is right, 2 sensors that would control that gauge? Or is it dependent on something else? Am i missing something else or leaving something out?

mines kinda like this...but i think its because i need to change my coolant temp sensor as its always cold so it isnt heating the the oil nor the block.

In for the cluster diagnostic! The oil temp gauge hasn't worked since I bought the car. Coolant comes to normal operating temp.

Just blow it the **** up. You don't need an oil temp gauge. As long as you know it's at the right level and circulating, I wouldn't worry unless I lived in a particularly hot or cold place.

My coolent temp sensor is working fine. But yea, I'm with airguard for the most part. But as I wait patiently wait for my next engine light. I decide to handle all the little **** on my car. Loose handle, posssessed sunroof switch, brittle ****** hoses, cheap plastic widow pully, poor temp sensor, shitty cluster, ******* window noise, etc etc. You know, the B5 norm. So now I'm trying to get the oil temp gauge to work. But I'm stumped at this point. I've changed all associating sensor and still not working? I'll keep trying but any help would be appreciated.
