Yet another timing belt thread.
I'm doing the timing belt on my car, (2001.5, 1.8t, fwd, tip, 85,000 miles) the timing belt kit I bought included the T-belt, tension pulley and relay roller, but did not havethe dampener. My question is, does this need to be replaced? Is there a way to test it to see if its still good, or is it one of the 'better safe then sorry' things?
I tried searching and found info about the older model dampener that should be replaced at 60-70k miles, but no info on the newer? (Is there a newer style?) :eek:lol, still new to Audis. Thanks in advance for any replys. |

Better safe than sorry.
While you are in there, do the waterpump and the front cam seals. |
RE: Yet another timing belt thread.
You should have bought the Ultimate Timing Belt Kit - (ECS Tuning)which would have included everything including the G12 coolant.
Dieselgeek, 034, and other places also have good kits, so look around... |
