Default Yet another timing belt thread.

I'm doing the timing belt on my car, (2001.5, 1.8t, fwd, tip, 85,000 miles) the timing belt kit I bought included the T-belt, tension pulley and relay roller, but did not havethe dampener. My question is, does this need to be replaced? Is there a way to test it to see if its still good, or is it one of the 'better safe then sorry' things?

I tried searching and found info about the older model dampener that should be replaced at 60-70k miles, but no info on the newer? (Is there a newer style?) lol, still new to Audis. Thanks in advance for any replys.

Better safe than sorry.

While you are in there, do the waterpump and the front cam seals.

You should have bought the Ultimate Timing Belt Kit - (ECS Tuning)which would have included everything including the G12 coolant.
Dieselgeek, 034, and other places also have good kits, so look around...
