02 cold start trouble
here we go again guys.
when i start my car,it cranks for about 10 seconds, then it starts, but idles like ****.give it a little gas and perfect there after.i turn it off and then turn it back on and it starts fine and idles normal.what could it be?sounds like this only happens on a cold start.please help.this car has been nothing but trouble.also when the car is under a "load" the turbo makes a screaming noise.not extremely loud, but def.not normal.

i changed the plugs about 15k miles ago.i believe their ngk's?would the spark plugs create that problem even though when i turn it off and back on it starts normal?also what do you think about the turbo?its as soon as i give it gas and rpm's go above 2000 it makes that screaming noise.i let go of the gas and stops.
If they are the NGK copper plugs (BKR6E or 7E) you're WAYYYY overdue for new plugs. Those need to be swapped every 5k and gapped 0.028" for stage 1 or 1+. I had poor startups using the 7E plugs in cold weather. I swapped to 6E and it went away. So yes, it could be the plugs but not knowing which ones you have means I can't be sure.
The turbo makes a dentist drill sound when it's going to die. There should be some videos for you to google to get a general idea.

i just put brand new spark plugs on the car and it still has same problem.im now getting code "cylinder 1 & 3 MISFIRE"BUT only when i start the vehicle.after that it runs perfect, only at start-up it has hard time at cold start.coil packs are all good.so why could it be mis-firing??fuel injectors? this sounds like a fuel problem correct? please help. i just finished spending over $3k on this car. thank you
I put in plugs that were a heat range colder than stock (BKR7E) during the winter months and my startups and shifts were rough for the first few minutes. I may be 1+ but not at full boost so i reverted back to stock heat range (BKR6E) and all was well. Perhaps your plugs are a heat range colder than they should be?
I'm having the exact same problem. Issues from time to time when starting the car cold, plus a noisy fan sound. I changed the cooling fan module, and today I'm having the temperature cooling sensor changed. I did engine toning about 15k miles ago, so the issue should not be the plugs.
