Hi guys, let me start of by saying that I’m new to the manual transmission and I’m still learning how to drive it. I do now know if this is normal or not so I decided to ask. When I am going 20/25 mph in the 5th gear and I try to accelerate to 30 mph I kind of feel a little vibration on the gas pedal. Is this how it should be due to the fact that I am going 25 in 5th gear? When I drive 25 mph in 4 gear every thing seams normal.

The reason the pedal will vibrate when your going 25 mph in 5th gear is BECAUSE you are in 5th gear. Your putting strain on the engine to turn the wheels of the car when the gear ratio is really high and the engine is struggling to attain the necessary torque to make it accelerate. Your probably only doing 1000rpm's when your in 5th gear going 25mph.

theres no power at such a low rpm so its struggling to turn the wheels. you should only use 5th if you need to

Just like everyone else is saying (which is correct) you have the car running at a very low rpm rate, the reason it vibrates is because the engine is turning so slow that it doesnt have enough power to move the weight of the car, this will happen no matter how hard you press the gas pedal in 5th doing 25, 25 mph I would say you should be in 3rd gear, but it all depends if your going uphill or downhill or flat, you will get a hang of it soon enough just remember shift up around 3500 rpms that way your not making the gears run to quick or to slow

+1 to what everyone here has said. A general rule to shifting that might help you to get started is to shift every 10mph (meaning 0-10mph=1st, 11-20=2nd, 21-30=3rd, etc) This will at least let you get used to the car, at which point you will be able to tell exactly when you need to shift.
