Exclamation 2003 A4 1.8T possibile transmission issue.

Hello everyone,
This is my first audi and I am new to some of the technology in it so please bear with me while I try and describe the issues. It all started about 3000 miles after I purchased the car(96k miles) I noticed a slight vibration when accelerating. I noticed this vibration mainly occurred in the "power band". This didn't seem like a normal vibration but more of a woobling from side to side when on the throttle. I replaced the Tires and the motor mounts under the direction of a friend and did nothing, maybe even made it worse once I replaced the motor mounts. I just returned from a local shop and they are certain its a "inner transmission bearing" that they can hear it grinding under the car and that the whole transmission will need to be replaced. I am thinking of having audi also look at it but they have a 2 week wait for service and charge $125. Any Suggestions would be very appreciative! Please help

Also a couple of other symptoms;
A bad shaking when in reverse
When making turns at low speed a slight click or two from wheel well

the clicking or popping could be a bad (or going bad) control arm or ball joint. that might add to some of the vibrations when moving- but that doesn't sound like the only issue

I'm betting its a bad axle or two. When CV's go bad they start to click when you turn. They can also cause a wobble at speed.

Thank you, this may be the option I take. Two questions; What is the warranty on your product, and do you provide the special tools/bolts to install these items?

Most products have a 1 year manufacture warranty against defects. These axles do come with new bolts but we do not include any tools for installation.

We have tools available separately - if there is something you need let me know and I'll be happy to help you find it.
