2003 Audi A4 1.8t Quattro - Tire Size
Hey guys - I've got a 2003 Audi A4 1.8t Quattro with the 17" 5-spoke rims. The tires currently on the vehicle are 235/45r17 Kumho's. Has anyone tried putting a larger size on? I'm looking at a set of 234/55r17's. Any idea if those would work without any rubbing, etc?
Appreciate the feedback!

the "235" is the tire width, the "45" is the distance from the edge of the rim to the top of the tire. So increasing the "45" to a "55" will throw off the diameter of the wheel and cause incorrect speedo readings. If you want a wider tire you need to increas the "235" to something larger. Why would you need to go larger on a Quattro? You can't spin the tires anyway due to all wheel drive. Not recommended IMO. Stick with the same size.
