2005 Audi A4 Cabrio 1.8T Newbie
Wow, I'm really new to the Audi world. Just got a 2005 A4 Cabrio 1.8T. So here's 3 newb questions:
1. I'm assuming my car is a B6 based on this forum, but it looks like there was a update in 2005.5. How can I tell which I have? Sounds horrible I know.
2. I would like to give it more power. Where do I start? I'm thinking K&N air filter first. Beyond that, what should I do? Looks like cold air intakes aren't effective on the 1.8T. Appreciate any direction.
3. While I'm at it, what other upgrades should I consider?
Thanks!

I've looked at several 2005's and several 2006's, and I can't see the difference. Guess I'm not familiar enough (only had my car 2 days). Is there something specific that changed from the b6 to the b7?
Regarding an ECU: do you have one you recommend, and are they hard to reprogram, or replace? Doing a quick web search, looks like the APR ECU would do the trick?
I appreciate the help!

Now it makes sense, especially by this point:
The B7 Cabriolet model arrived later than the other two body variants, with sales beginning in February 2006. Brand new on the Cabriolet was an entry-level 2.0 TDI version, but to date this is not being offered with the Multitronic gearbox.
Thanks for the help!

Compared to the high price-power gain ratio of chipping, an intake has a pretty low ratio. Intakes aren't even necessary until your getting into serious power. Other than that, if you'd still like one the only one worth the money is the Carbonio. looks sick as fk, makes your engine sound better, plus gives you a little something IMO. With a forge 007 diverter valve and the carbonio installed on my car, it feels less 'peaky' now and more smooth and drive-able
