3.0 vs 1.8t
That is very reassuring. I was expecting the turbo much more.
If chipping a car, is that legal when you go in for inspection? I was always told that it isn't. If not is there a way to get rid of the chip program for inspection and then put it back on when the car comes back from inspection?

A chip isn't illegal by any means. It can become harder to pass emissions if you have additional mods tho (glad to live in FL.) If I'm not mistaken, APR's chip has the option to return the car to its stock program.
If you're a college student, but a nice American or Jap beater for which parts and repairs are cheap(er). When you graduate, get a nice job and treat yourself to an Audi.
If you find a well-treated Audi, stay current on maintenance, and treat her well, you may not have any problems. My A6 has 122k miles and no major issues other than an alternator and a clutch.

At stage 1 or 1+, they're virtually all the same with minor curve differences.
If you really want power, then bypass all that stuff and get a bigger turbo. I wish I'd have done that from the get-go.
^^^ Yes sir, I'd get an elim. kit at the very least. No way a REPLACEMENT turbo should cost you $2k. $700 at the very most, w/o searching. These cars are easy to work on but hard to diagnose sometimes and truly understand the problems. And some turbo's last over 150k miles with proper maintenance. Water pump and all 70k miles. And yes, APR allows you to scroll through programs through the CC stalk
