A4/1.8T Coil Packs - Was There a Bad Batch Out There?
I own a 2005/A4/1.8T/Q. I believe I read on this forum and I also heard from my local VW dealer who is a friend of mine that there was a bad batch of coil packs that had beeninstalledas OEM equipment on 1.8T engines some time ago. Could my car possibly have these bad coil packs or was it in prior years??
Yep, some of the coilpacks, especially on early models were equipped with coilpacks that have mroe chances to fail, then Audi revised them and they call it CoilPack R. Just have some in a trunk as a spare. You dont really know when they gonna fail.
yes there is a big bad batch....... every coilpack ever made for a 2002-2004.5 1.8t a4!!!! even the newest revision (R) can and will fail. get hitachi E's and you will never have to worry about one failing again. thats what a lot of people run now
ecs has a nice kit that includes the seals and bolts, otherwise www.purems.com you can order the stuff individually, just shoot mike an email or PM him on www.audizine.com his SN is mike@purems
