After buying the carbonio myself and taking it off later on to sell, i would say don't waste the money on any kind of aftermarket intake unless you are going BAT (big *** turbo). I actually noticed more gains after i recently put in a K&N drop in filter, and for $50, it is more affordable.

Does this filter also let you hear the turbo better? I'm looking into intakes, and since the intake power gains are all just about the same it doesnt really matter to me. I'm mostly looking for that nice turbo sound the aftermarket intakes give you.

Default afe intake

i got the afe intake put on about a week ago on my 2003 audi a4 1.8t quattro and it sounds great. its not too loud but you can def. hear it especially when it changes gears and you let off a little on the gas pedal. its noticeably a little quicker too and i have been getting a few extra mpg. for 250 i think its a great buy especially if you are planning on putting more on like an exhaust and ecu.

i went to an audi specialist asking about cold air intakes, he said that there pointless all you really get is the sound out of it, he mentioned that the best upgrades you could ever get for a 1.8t is a cat back exhaust, a different diverter/ blow of valve, and chip it. im going to chip my 1.8t with a unitronic for $550.

apr has a special on their programs i think its like 3 to 4 bills. Intakes only rob our car of power due to the high heat in that location. Only way to make it work right is with a good heatshield. But chip and exaust with dv will get u plenty of sounds and quiet a big jump in acceleration.
