Default Audi A4 Trunk Light Problem

Both lights in my trunk are out. Checked both bulbs and they look ok. Where can I find the fuse for the trunk light? Not specified in manual. What else can be up?

Just look on the panel. Open your driver's door and pop the side of your console out with a screwdriver, you'll see the fuses there, check each one to make sure they're fine. There should be more lights out if it's a fuse.

Don't you mess up electrical settings/systems when you just pull each fuse to check them?

Today I found out that I can lock my car and arm the alarm system with my trunk lid open! What does that tell you? Maybe the trunk lid switch is bad? How to fix this? The trunk lid does lock, the lock itself works.

Thanks!

Thats just if u get something outta your trunk and dont need to unlock the rest of your car. Try it. Lock your car then push the trunk button only the trunk will unlock and the rest of the car will stay locked. When u close your trunk the car will re-arm itself. It should say on the backside of the panel which fuse is for what. And Shane is right it is a fuse cuz mine had that problem a while back.

Do not pull the fuses with the car on.

My A4 had the same problem. But my problem is the light fixture its self. When I took mine out it was all rusty and dirty, had been wet for years it looked like. All the wireing was shot and so was what ever else that was metal in there. I had to buy it all new from the dealer cost me $150 worth of parts. Installed it on my own . Every dealer I spoke to said its common for b6's to have this happen, at least here in Canada (maybe our salty roads in the winter???) . The seal around the lens that covers the bulb lets in water over time. Shitty deal but it is what it is.

Did you ever solve this problem? I have the same issue. Both trunk lights are inoperable. Sometimes the alarm will chirp and “arm” with the lid open. Sometimes if the car is locked and you pop the trunk with the remote, the alarm will “chirp” randomly while the trunk is open. It is like the car doesn’t know the trunk lid is open, hence the arming with the lid open and the lights not coming on. I have replaced the latch switch but to no avail... any ideas appreciated. Thanks
