So yesterday my wife pulled her 2003 A4 Avant 3.0 into the driveway and I noticed that the rear wiper was running. When asked, she said that it just started on its own when she started the car at work. She tried moving the lever to get it to stop, but it kept on running the whole way home.

When we restarted the vehicle, it no longer ran all the time. But whenever I accelerated from a stop light, it would come on for about 7 wipes and then stop.

I've done a forum search and have come up empty. I would really appreciate any help.
