Default B5S4 brake upgrade question about calipers

All,

I am doing B5S4 brake upgrade (front calipers, rotors, and pads). I just received calipers today and realized it missed few things compare to the picture shown on A4Mods.com. If you look at the picture I attached, I don't have those 3 things pointing by red arrow - brake line, metal hard wire, and the clip holds the line and the wire.

I know I probably can use the brake line from my B6. What about the clip and the metal hard wire? Does my B6 calipers have them too (I haven't remove my calipers yet so not sure if mine have them)? If they do, can I re-use them?

Thanks.

Just found out they are called hard lines which part of brake lines. Can anyone please tell me if I can use my B6 lines (if I have them) on those calipers?

Thanks.

If they're just lines you should be able to utilize the ones already in your car. Get ready for some fluid bleeding at least 3 times after you drain all of it.

Well... just give an update... the hard brake lines and brakets from our B6 don't fit on B5S4 calipers. They have complete different shape and length. I ended up order a pair from dealer for $34 each and also a pair of braket that holds the hard line for $31 each. Since my calipers didn't come with anything other than caliper itself and carrier, it took me a while to figure out the right way to put braket and hard line together on the caliper.

Anyway, it all worked out well. It took me and my friend total of 3 hours to complete the job. Man, I love those new calipers.

Does it have a better "bite" than the stock ones?

Yes, it does. They are definitely worth it to upgrade.
