B6 a4!
I'm moving to Chicago in few months and i want a quattro Audi to replace my Dodge Intrepid!, so i thought what's better than A4! and with all the moving expenses i can't really afford anything else (B7 or A6).
I really likes Audi but never owned one, and most of my friends owns Bimmers (Not a big fan),
after some time at kbb, I'm now confused more than before! some people really don't know how to review a car! or maybe posting there just to bash audis, 1/5 star for quality because a faulty Headlights!, i know that Audi is one of the most reliable cars, some kbb reviewers disagree strongly about this! some say stay away from the 1.8T others say stay away from the 3.0!
there are some 4-5 stars reviews and this what i ended with: faulty headlights and/or sockets, water pump and timing belt at ~65k, Oil change every 5k and breaks pads every 10k, all ok i guess.
what should i believe ? and what should i look for when buying one of these ?
also Kbb only gives the suggested price for the excellent condition, the B6 is 5-9 years old now, i don't think there are any car that old in "excellent condition" left, and (from my experience) buying an low/average miles 8 years car better than garaged one because you'll need to replace most of the hoses and other engine/suspension rubber based components.
thanks in advance

Both cars need the belt at 80k
The 3.0L has less maintenance, but the labor and parts cost much more.
The 1.8L is turbo charged, so if you wanted to play with it, it has way more potential. However it has more moving parts, more things to break.
Brake pads every 10k? Thats rediculous, maybe if you were track driving. Every 40k is more likely on an automatic model.
KBB means nothing with these cars, (german cars for that matter) they go for different prices in different areas, and they almost always sell for more than blue book value when in great condition.
