Smile b6 or b5

hi i have just bought a 0ctober 2001 audi a4 1.8 t how can i tell if its a b5 or b6 i want to order some body parts but they are asking if its a b5 or b6 allso what oil should it have in according to the service record it says mobil 1 but doesent give a viscosity hope you can help joe.mg

Hi, 2001 is a b5 model and as for the oil, you need synthetic oil 5w40. You can tell if you have a b5 or b6 model simply by looking at the headlight or the way the bumber fit with the fender. The b6 model got a more square finish corner headlight and the way the front bumper fit with the fender is not as usual as the b5.

hi thanks for your reply my audi has the same shape headlight and bumper/grill as a 2003 model i have looked at, could it be a b6 ?are there any other differences joe.mg
