Default B6 Central Electrical Control Module J519 2004 a4 QTurbo automatic

Wiper Problem started with a seized wiper transmission. Fairly normal. I replaced the trans and motor. When I first turned it on, every stalk position moved more slowly than normally. I figured I could live with that. Soon it stopped working all together, or would move a little, stop, move a little more, stop, and I just felt lucky to get the wipers back to their park position, only by hitting the stalk down to the mist position several times.

I removed the trans and motor, tested the motor directly off of the battery, and it works. I then tested the motor through the harness ground and directly off the battery positive, and it works. testing the motor via the harness for both + and ground, no luck.

Then I pulled all the wires out of the J519 under the dash, found an wiring diagram, and tested for continuity the four wires that go from the J519 to the wiper motor. All good. I just ordered a used J519 from Ebay.

Questions:

Will I need to recode the new/used J519 with my VCDS? Is that the only code needed, below, the 00003 code? the part number ordered is identical to my old one.

If this doesn't solve the problem, is the steering wheel wiper stalk replacement next?

Thanks

It was the J519. I ordered a used one from ebay for $75. The part number was identical, so it was plug and play. Note that I had water intrusion into the driver's side floor board, from above, and found my drains plugged up under the battery, about the same time this whole thing started. Coincidence? I also had a seized wiper transmission that could have burned the J519 out. Don't go through my ordeal if all it takes is cleaning out the drains. cheers
