bad cam lobe

Default bad cam lobe

anyone ever experienced that kind of problem if so how much i,m looking at for the repair of this junk.62 000 miles a4 3.0 quattro

Default There is a TSB for this

I found a TSB in the Bentley manual, tsb number 15 08 15 2016717/3. It shows cam lobe wear similar to the picture you have. They have no cause, but say to replace the affected cams. You may be able to get the dealer to cover some of it, call them and ask, the worst they could say is no.

oil change 400 miles ago/full syn.--dealer.i guess the previous owner went cheap on oil.ha ha ha .they saved i,ll spend.not so bad about $300 on a cam and about 150 for all 6 intake followers.good think i can do it my self don,t wanna guess what the dealer,s estimate would it be.

If you don't mind I'd like to post this on another forum for the 3.0 owners. I thought this only affected 2002 models.

no not at all!i don,t know if it was on 2002 only but u can see the pic.it,s weird because it,s only one cam of all 4???????????

yeah passenger.are they 1-3 or 4-6 cyl. there?

I believe that's cylinder 4, but don't quote me on that.

I have a 2002 3.0 with the exact problem.
Parts are ordered, Bentley manual in hand.
I'll update later on my progress. Stay tuned!
