kinda depends. for your example it's just a basic flash they would give you, if you have bigger fuel injectors or a bigger turbo you would get a different file but again chances are a preconfigured map. my APR stage 1+ and stage 2 flashes were both predone and just flashed onto the ECU.

I know that Revo needed to do a custom file for my car when i did the stage 3 flash but that was due to my tiptronic transmission i believe.

Yeaa i knew that much lol.. but basically if i were to get chipped now with a virtually stock a4 and then got a bigger turbo and injectors in the future im assuming i could just get it re-flashed with the appropriate software depending on the company of course?

Yes but that would depend on the company you went with, unless you buy a complete APR stage 3 kit it's hard to get the software and very expensive, plus you are restricted to running a GT2860RS i think, there isn't much room to go with any other options (i might be wrong on about the GT2860RS, someone please correct me if i am).

Go with Revo, you will have more options to choose from in terms of mods down the road.

Most tuners (APR, GIAC) usually only offer pre-mapped tunes for a K04 upgrade but when you get up there on turbo size Revo and Unitronics have custom tunes.

Hmm thats tricky.. just cuz i have a TIP so i obviously cant go Big turbo but i was lookin to get a k04 somewhat soon so that when i have my car chipped with bigger injectors and other small things like exhaust DV and inlet pipes for example the k04 will handle it better and utilize the mods rather than stock k03 which would be doing overtime and i think it should move pretty good by then with all that.. butt i was hoping i could get it chipped now cuz i cant stand the slowness stock lol and then go k04 when i get the chedda to do so.. any suggestions??

Well APR has a 1.8t upgrade option I believe. Their kit is a little expensive IMO. Do a diode mod if you want the quick cheap boost. Or look in the classifieds for a chipped ECU

If you're planning big mods soon you should wait because it is near certain you will end up buying another chip. Or, you could just sell the one you buy now if you don't mind losing about 50% on it.
