Default Big problem need help fast

hey guys, i tinted my tail lights a bit to dark with the VHT nightshades.. i guess 9 coats is too dark

HAS ANYBODY PUT LED lights where their brakelights are... i think if i have the LED they may shine thru a bit more and be bright..

i know the brake light is a dual circut... its lit when we drive and then gets brighter when the brake is applied. what LED light would i need?

i did the same thing... i only did 4 coats though... nothing seemed to help. tried different bulbs too. only thing i can suggest is sand them back down, or buy new lights which is what i did...

i think this is the bulb you would need though... a "5007"

Those bulbs wont be bright enough. U need 360degree firing bulbs. Op what color is your car? I have some smoked depo tails i can sell you if u looking to go the smoked route. But if u do plan on installing leds u will need resistors to match the stock load as leds dont put out as much voltage as a stock incandescent.

Its just a matter of whether you'd rather spend the cash, or do the work. You can pretty easily sand them down and recoat them. Or just spend the money and buy a decent set of LED tail lights. Like Pa4ul said, you will need resistors to match the load so that the light out warning indicator doesn't come on.

There's no way for any of us to answer that question without seeing how dark your tail lights are. The only way to know for sure is to buy one and try it. They will still come on without the resistors in place, but your tail lights will flash instead of staying on constant. (at least that's what mine did until I installe the resistors)
