I just got the Billy Boat (B&B) Stealth Exhuast on by B6 A4 1.8T (5 spd) Avant and it is fabulous. I didn't want to be putting out a ridiculous amount of noise, but wanted more of a rumble and to open up the air flow a bit. The resonated exhaust is exactly what I was looking for - it has a deep rumble when idling, front end torque and when I let my foot off the gas, but is not over the top. I haven't noticed any drone at all really, including highway and once you hit 3rd gear and up.

I took my girlfriend out last night with it (note - she appreciates car stuff, but is not a Jalop) and she thought it was great. You get the nice rumble without it being overbearing or annoying. You also get a little bit (very little bit, but it's a nice reminder of the money you spent) of vibration in the center of your lower back. Finally, I notice the few more horsepower and responsiveness immediately.

Now, it's time to replace the upper control arms and put in S4 struts this weekend.
