Hello,

Bought a 1.8T A4 today, picking it up Wednesday Cambelt done in Feb, they're MOT'ing it, and it's got 109k miles on the clock. It cost what feels like a relatively low cost of £950. No idea if that is a bargain or not, but when I sat in it, I instantly liked it, so that's usually a good sign!!

So, obviously I'm looking for a few tips on things to look out for, especially on the 1.8T. I have heard of the 1.8T being problematic in the Golf, is that the same for the A4's?

So far, I've not noticed any major issues, but obviously I'd prefer to uncover them to begin with before I start doing serious mileage. Minor issues, the digital climate control, the paint has peeled off most of the buttons. Not a big deal, but is it a replacement job to fix that, or can you buy the buttons separately (I'm clutching here aren't I?). Same for the window switches but I'll get some of those on order so not too concerned about that.

Only other issue, there are two remote keys however neither appear to be working. Seller suggested the batteries were gone, however seems odd for both remotes. Is this a common problem? Any known fixes or am I going to be chasing tails here ?

Looking forward to hopefully being a part of this cool community
