Cant go past 100 mph

I HAVE A 2004 AUDI A4 QUATTRO. ITS AUTO. I FINALLY DECIDED TO TEST IT OUT AND ONCE I HIT 100 MPH THE RPMs DROPPED AUTOMATICALLY FOR SOME REASON. ANY HELP SO I CAN GO FASTER THAN THAT.

It should be factory governed to 133 mph. However, I once read that this can be changed via a vagcom to reduce the top speed. Did you buy the car from someone who had a teenage driver? Alternately, chipping it removes the governor.
