Default car heat question

The car doesn't put out hot air when idling. Heater core was flushed but not sure if they bled the lines for air. It isn't low on coolant, you don't even have to be driving to make heat come out, just rev it up to around 2k rpm's and heat will begin to come out. I see one visible bleeder at least I think it is its one, above the intake manifold on the hard pipe. I also read that there is another bleeder on the heater core. I was wondering if the bleeder above the intake manifold would get all the air out by itself or would I have to find the bleeder on the heater core? And to bleed it should the car be up to temp and running when you loosen the bleeder? I am a novice at mechinacal work but I pick up on things pretty fast if anyone has some advice. And also I have a 02 1.8t

Try flushing the heater core with CLR. If that does not work it is time for a new heater core. The g001200 coolant can become encrusted inside the heater core preventing good heat transfer.

It already got flushed but I could try it again. Just by reading the heater core is a pain to change.

Remove the hoses from the heater core , blow out any remaining coolant with air , fill with CLR & let it sit for several hours , then flush with fresh water , refill & bleed cooling system.
Yes , the heater core is a PITA!

Since it was already flushed ill try and bleed it to see what I get, but after that ill try flushing the system myself. Where can I buy this clr at? Like a Walmart? Car doesn't leak or burn any fluid.

Me and my friend bled the heater core, there was a little air in there. But it wasn't putting out any coolant until I reved the rpms to about 2.5k. There was a steady stream coming out for a while then we put the hose back on. Same thing no heat at idle. And for some reason the car temp gauge heats up way faster than it actually is. It will never go past the half way point but its definutly still cold when it says its in the middle, don't know if that is causing anything but I thought I'd ask. We hooked it up to a obd2 scanner, I know its old but all the readings it was giving off seemed normal. The heater core seems to not be clogged as one of the lines is hot and the other one is warn. And if it were clogged wouldn't I be getting no heat at all and one would still be cold?

Listen! Do as i said above & see what happens. If you are looking for a silver bullet to fix your problem you will be out of luck!
Trust me , i have done this dozens of times , know these cars very well & this a common problem. The fact that the other hose coming out of the heater core is cold tells you the coolant is cooling off too much due to restrictions internally.
When the system is operating normally both hoses will be hot!

okay, all though after car is up to heat, and I get heat when I'm driving or pressing the gas on idle, both hoses are warm, one being hotter than the other tho. Ill do as you said above and I have one more stupid question. I know these cars get g12 coolant, I have some still from my other Audi its heptu g12 coolant. Is it the same as Pentosin G001200? I got this heptu g12 coolant from a German website and id think g12 is g12 no matter what brand right? Don't want to complicate this any more than it should be with adding the wrong g12 coolant if it is. Said for Audi's so I was just wondering.

It is the same stuff. If it has the g001200 or similar #'s you will be good. The other thing is the color , the proper fluid is pinkish. Do Not Mix pink with green!
