Check Engine light comes on and off! Advice.
Hallo. I own Audi A4 which bought recently. About a week ago the check engine light came on. When I opened the engine bonnet to see if I can trace the problem. I came across a hose pipe that part of it made of flex gave way. I called the dealer. The nearest appointment I got is after a week from now. I use the car after tapping the flex part to match the pipe. The car runs good. The check engine light comes on and off. At the moment it's off. It's driving me crazy. I'll post some pictures of the pipe before and after it's sealed. Is this something serious to worry about till I get it fixed next week? Am I doing harm the engine? Shall I park the car till I get it fixed? Or is it okey to drive it around? What is the function of that hose pipe?
Hope I get your feed back, since last week I have been posting. All I get is little help from the forum members. The thread is read by many but little response. Thanks in advance. Any opinion shared will be well appreciated

Pa4ful no it's not 3.0 but rather 1.6. I don't really know if it's part of the vacuum. But it must be an intake hose pipe that goes to the crankcase coming from down the engine. I will post a picture of the part to show where the damage is. It's cut in two places. One I tapped it, the other one cannot access through the engine. It's not rough in idle but smooth like nothing is wrong. No matter how I press the gas it doesn't go the way it's suppose to go. It's like the power is less.
Driving a car with the CEL on will not cause any harm to the engine. If the CEL starts flashing while driving you could potentially cause damage and I would advise to limit driving as much as possible.
Usually you can pull the codes if you have a OBDII scanner and clear them.
