I just got back from just driving the car around, beating on it after I swapped out one of the coil packs. The coil pack was the problem. My CEL is still on but I will read the codes tomorrow to see if everything is alright. I hope that the turbo underboost was due to the coil packs too, not just for the misfire.

Update: So I cleared the codes. Then I beat on the car a little bit just to see if the CEL would come back on. Looks like the problem is solved. Thanks to everyone that helped me save some money, I really do appreciate the help!!

Glad to hear it was an easy fix!

Sorry to hear about the M3, glad you have a real car to drive again... :-P

Yeah it was very simple. I did have the same problem again over the weekend. I had to change out the coil pack for cylinder 4 this time but i had new ones waiting for the time that i would need them since i heard they pretty much all go out soon after one does.

what about an m3?

I'm also willing to bet you spent more on the Audi in 100,000 miles of ownership than on the BMW or Audi itsself, lol.

I've only test driven BMWs, so I know nothing about them. I put BMW above mercedes as far as german engineering goes, and German above all american and most japanese. Toyota had a few gems in the late 80's and early/mid 90's. Other than an MR2 or Supra, I've only ever really cared for Audi's. Ever since I saw the beautiful 1998 Audi S4 in Gran Turismo 3... lol

I'm betting the M3 has a little more giddyup though

First of all. Only MB I like are the AMG cars they make, especially the black series! Other than that, i hate them. I have been in love with bimmer since i could remember. Ive driven a few, and i guess you could say they were pretty nice.. The E92 M3 and E60 M5.. They are both amazing machines and I would kill to have one!

As far as the giddyup the M3 has much more.. And its way more fun because thats a stick and my audi is auto..

Ick, sorry about the auto. I drive the honda now and then (especially since I drive just as fast in the winter, why risk the Audi), which is auto, and I find myself always trying to shift. It's been two months since I drove my car, and I still find myself trying to shift. Having to go back and forth sucks, I feel your pain. Atleast you got the stick on the powerhouse. I was looking up specs on cars in the 50s the other day, especially the foreign cars like the ones in china, and the automatic transmissions took almost 60% of the power away from the wheels. Thank god we don't have to have that kind of power loss nowadays.
