Default Chip and Injectors inquiry

How do I tell what APR ecu program i have....I went to an APR dealer and they did the chip but all he asked was 91 or 93 octane...I said 93 octane. Now here is the question, is my APR chip Stage I or Stage I+. They didnt ask about injectors or put any in (don't know if you could run Stage I+ without injector upgrade). Now I want to change out my injectors to upgrade them (i know bigger injectors are bad for a non-Stage I+) But I dont want to have to buy another $500 APR flash to get Stage I+. Please leave input.

Ask them to upgrade it, they most likely chipped your car with Stage 1, but should give you the upgrade when you come back with injectors. Let us know, I'm hazy on those details.

If they didn't ask for injectors and you didn't install any means you are NOT 1+. If you go to the same shop they should only charge you a 1/2 hour of labor for a reflash (usually about $42 since most places charge $80/hour) Do the install yourself. There should be a DIY in goapr.com on how to take out the fuel rail and stuff. And depending on your injectors you make need longer bolts for the fuel rail. RESEARCH

Thanks euro, I was planning on doing the injectors myself anyway. I'll give the APR dealer a call and see what they'll charge me. I just didntwant to have to pay $500 for another flash....that would be rediculous.

I just bought these actually:

Direct plug and play for all 1.8T motors. Assuming that means no extended bolts, but we'll find out when I go to install them won't we, lol

OK so it's alright to drive the car with these bigger injectors installed? The shop is only 17 miles from my house. I don't want to risk harming the car on the way there without proper program to run the injector correctly.....

Sublime for the TT225 squiters, its direct plug and play. For other aftermarket, like genisis or siemens. Longer bolts and fuel rail spacers are needed.

Silent13, question for you about your Carbonio. If you had it before the chip, you know what I mean when I ask this, did the "exhale" sound change at all when you chipped it? I have a Carbonio as well, and a APR R1 DV, and I'll be getting chipped as $ comes in, what new sounds do I have to look forward to?
