Default Cigarrette lighter outlet...

Ok I'm not sure if anyone already started a thread with this or not but, When I bought my car there was a Dime in the socket and the lighter was on top of it, my girlfriend at the time found it when she was looking at the car. Now I tried to connect my phone charger into the socket and nothing, no power. I also noticed that before I knew there was a dime in there, my Compass would read XX instead of the direction of travel, after the coin was extracted that went away. Is there any fuse that I need to check for to fix this? Would that fuse cause something else to fail? Has anyone else ever been dumb like the previous owner to put coins in there? All these answers and MORE!! When the members of this forum post a reply... STAY TUNED!!!

I had a charger break once, leaving a part of it in the socket. It shorted out a couple of times before i figured it out. I dont remember if it changed anything else. It is a fuse, but i dont remember which one. It should be labeled on the fuse box top.

The fuse box is located on the left side of the dashboard. Open the driver side door, and pop the left panel off from the dashboard, it's in there.

look in the owners manual. You have to set the compass to the correct earth-zone for it to work right. Maybe it has something to do with that...

Well when the lighter was out the compass worked fine so I don't know and I also don't have the owner's manual...

I think XX means it needs to be calibrated.. most times it involves pushin a button or buttons then driving in circles until it calibrates.
