clicking nose coming from the engine?
I have a 2003 3.0 B6 with 130k and i have a check engine light on for faults on both my catalytic converters for not warming up to the proper temperatures. I replaced both cats on my car about a year and a half ago, the job cost me about $2800 from the dealer. What i am trying to figure out is this knocking/ clicking noise that i hear in my engine bay from inside my cabin. the noise appears at about 3000 to 3500 rpm, than it goes away and the car accelerates without any noise. If anyone has any past instances of this or can figure it out through my symptoms. HELP! I don't want to have to put new cats in. hoping its something cheaper.

Before bringing it to the Audi dealer I would check all your heat shields to make sure they are not rattling. If you don't find anything I would bring it back to the dealer where you got the work done and have them check for leaks and check the cats. If they put OEM cats in, they should still be under warranty. Just be sure to tell them you do not want to be charged and believe that this problem is a result from their poor work to your car. Unless there is something terribly wrong with your engine there is no reason why your new cats should be going bad after a year and a half.
