Default Coil Issue

So I fried one coil back in december and replaced it and carried a spare. Today, I got my APR software installed, and was testing it out around town later tha t day and fried another one. Thank god I had a replacement. Anyone think aftermarket coils are good, and if so any brands? Or do I just keep replacing with OEM coils? Thanks

This may be a stupid question but what are the coils? I've seen several mention of replacing coil packs but I don't know what they are. Is it a 1.8 thing or does the 3.0 have them too?

I got a set of Hitachi coils from ECStuning and haven't had any problems with them yet {'knock on wood'}

Only problem with those is that I dont have the holes for the bolts, so that style doesnt work for mine.

3.0L coils are just as crappy as the 1.8T coils. Except these tend to break when you wash your motor, or when changing spark plugs.
