Default Difference between Ignition Coils

Car: 2004 Audi a4 1.8T 4cyl FWD 90 000mi

I was wondering what is the difference between the different brands of ignition coils.. is one better than the other?

I see there is brands like karlyn, beru, meyle.. etc etc...

I was looking to change my spark plus to the NGK laser platinum PFR6Q and was wondering if I am better off changing the ignition coils as well to some ''better'' ones, if there is even a difference between them..

btw I am not getting any misfires.. but it does feel a tiny bit sluggish.. I think my current plugs in there are champions.. so i Thought switching to the NGK with the shorter gap might be a slight improvement, correct me if i am wrong.

Dealer only. They should replace them for free due to recall!

Well, there's no real risk in trying different plugs, but at 90,000 miles on the clock I'd be more concerned about changing your fuel filter if that has never been done.

I called the audi dealer and asked him when do you suggest changing the fuel filter.. he said he doesn't unless i have acceleration problems or rough starts.. then i went to advanced auto parts to check how much a fuel filter is and they said you dont change those because they are inside the fuel tank and they are ''life time''

Well, the Audi dealer also will tell you that you don't ever need to change your tiptronic transmission fluid, either.

Depends how much you believe in "preventative maintenance". I'm a big believer in stopping problems before they occur.

You said that the car seemed a little sluggish, so your fuel filter may be plugged up. At any rate, changing out the fuel filter every 40,000 miles or so will help prevent fuel pump failures.

Here's a nice DIY on changing out the fuel filter on a B6. This is a very easy job and rates about a 1 on the DIY PITA scale. The hardest part of this job is making sure that you get the correct fuel filter.

if u live in h-town and plan on changing plugs i would recommend this NGK BKR7EIX gapped at .32. Its a colder plug that will help with the heat down in texas. needs to be changed every 30 to 40k also.
