Default ECS Tuning Boost Gauge Install Issues...

Just finished installing the ECS tuning boost gauge vent kit.

Easy install... But, the gauge will stop working when the lights are ON. Lights OFF works perfectly. just emailed ECS tuning but not expecting an answer till Monday.

Anybody have an idea on what's wrong? Read around but no definite answer.

Thanks in advance.

I take it there's a line to the light switch to sync it up with the dashboard backlight? (My Podi stepper motor gauge doesn't have that, but the setting that matches up best with the brightness level of the dash is invisible during the day, so it doesn't really matter.)

The only thing (other than a defective unit, of course) that occurs to me is that perhaps you've connected either the wrong line to the light switch, or to the wrong place on the light switch.

I would double check all connections later today, but I doubt it, the gauge lights up but kills it.

Just triple check all the connections, is all as per instructions.

Headlight switch harness Gauge power harness
Purple -----------------------------Red
Red--------------------------------Green
Blue/Grey--------------------------White
Brown-----------------------------Black

Lights OFF position it works, lights ON, it lights up but doesn't work...

Default Problem Solved...

First of all, tahnks to Jason and all the guys at ECS tuning for taking the time to work with me on this.

Now... The issue was the power source in the headlight switch harness (purple wire) when the light is switched ON that source/cable will loose power. To fix it, just got power from another switched source in the fuse box.

Again, thanks to everyone that try to help me here and at ECS tuning.

Just have to say it's very impressive that the manufacturer is represented on here. I have plans on ordering an ECS Vent Boost Gauge (hence why I am searching the forums for it), and this gives me a great peace of mind. Good looking out Jason, and hopefully I can bypass any problems now =)
